Richmond Lifestyle

Richmond is among the great cities of America in which to live, work, and relax.  We have received accolades based on our history, outdoor lifestyle, nightlife, food, and cost-of-living advantages.  We have a thriving urban culture with a fitness bent - a new 50 mile Capital City bike trail, class IV rapids on the James River, signature running events, and we’re home to Richmond 2015 UCI Road World Cycling Championships.  Cool creative workspaces, coffee houses, restaurants and micro-breweries are dotted through neighborhoods flourishing with music festivals, arts exhibitions and sporting events.

  • “ Our administration's top priority is creating jobs and economic development in the Commonwealth. RVA Works is a great example of these efforts. Together we are improving our competitiveness as a state, and creating jobs and growth in those communities where they are most needed. ”

Maurice Jones, Secretary of Commerce and Trade
  • “ RVA Works gave me an abundance of resources to use when forming my business; from networking opportunities, to mentors, to basic education (the commonsense part of starting a business that a lot of big companies don't teach people). Through its holistic approach to starting a business, I was able to form my company while going through classes at RVA Works, and gain the knowledge and confidence to follow my dream of opening Kernoodle Homes, and I will be forever thankful for this opportunity. ”

    Tonya Kernoodle, Kernoodle Homes
  • “ 1 Million Cups was an excellent venue for us at Notch (@notch_io) to get some great exposure and insight from other local entrepreneurs. We look forward to continuing our relationship with the group! ”

    David Der, Notch
  • “ RVA Works is unique in its inclusive and holistic approach to making startups thrive. ”
