He later decided to pursue his passion, the development of housing in urban areas, by taking a position at Interfaith Housing Corporation as the Deputy Executive Director. While at Interfaith, Mr. Hanson was responsible for managing both commercial and real estate development in blighted areas of the City.
In 1998 he formed The Hanson Company LLC. (THC), an urban revitalization company headquartered in Jackson Ward. Under Mr. Hansons leadership T.H.C. has developed more certified historic structures in Jackson Ward than any other company. The Hanson Company, LLC (THC), is a community based Real Estate Development Company. It is the intent of the development company to work in concert with the community to save and restore historically significant structures throughout the City of Richmond and to provide both commercial and residential space to the community.
