Jane Ferarra, Executive Director
Department of Economic and Community Development, Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer, Jane Ferrara, is the former Director of Real Estate for the City of Richmond, Virginia. She is the chief advisor to the Mayor, Chief Administrative Officer and City Council on all matters related to City-owned properties. She directs the Citys Real Estate Services Department, which strategically deploys and leverages City real estate assets through the acquisition, disposition, and adaptive re-use and redevelopment of City-owned properties. In this role, she formulates, recommends and implements real estate strategies designed to preserve, enhance and unlock value potential of a diverse array of City real estate assets.
Mrs. Ferrara has negotiated numerous complex real estate transactions to include leases, purchases, dispositions, condemnations and property rights acquisitions on behalf of the City and its agencies. All City transactions must be approved through the citys legislative process and adopted by City Council.
With Bachelors of Science degree from Old Dominion University she began her commercial real estate career in 1985. Throughout her career, she has worked with a number of institutional clients to formulate real estate strategies that enhance value.
