Black History Museum and Cultural Center of Virginia

The Black History Musuem is undertaking a full renovation of the Armory Building on Leigh Street.  The Museum is a focal point for the preservation of shared history.  “The museum records our struggles. It celebrates our accomplishments. It helps us understand ourselves.”

The EDA was pleased to provide project finance to enable the Leigh Street Armory renovation, which will give the Jackson Ward iconic building a $13 million face lift with some 21st century touches.
